Calcium, Ca, is a soft gray alkaline earth metal that is the fifth most abundant element in the earth’s crust. It is essential in living organisms because it moves in and out of the cytoplasm functioning as a signal for many cellular pathways and processes. It is the most abundant metal in many animals and is predominantly found in bones and shells.
In this assay, Calcium can be detected by using our fluorescence probe which has fluorescence excitation and emission maxima of approximately 571 nm and 585 nm and absorbance maxima at 570 nm.
