Most methods to quantify aldehyde levels, such as HPLC-MS and GC-MS, can be expensive or tedious. This assay uses sensitive mix-and-read method with a proprietary fluorogenic dye that reacts with aldehyde to produce a highly fluorescent product. It is even more sensitive than the Colorimetric Aldehyde Quantitation Kit with detection of as little as 0.3 nm/100µL of aldehyde. Signal increases with increasing aldehyde levels, and can be read with fluorescence microplate reader with excitation at 365 nm and emission t 435 nm.
