Most methods to quantify aldehyde levels, such as HPLC-MS and GC-MS, can be expensive or tedious. This assay uses an efficient, one-step colorimetric method that is both sensitive and accurate to a level of 1 nm/100µL. In the assay, proprietary dye reacts with aldehyde to produce a chromogenic product. Signal increases with increasing aldehyde levels, and can be read with absorbance microplate reader at 405 or 550 nm.
